Duncan Reed, Head Coach

With over 15 years of coaching experience and a playing background that spans his entire life, Duncan Reed's connection to baseball runs deep. As a dedicated teacher, he imparts his knowledge and enthusiasm not only on the field but also in the classroom, where he inspires and educates young minds.

Duncan has a bachelor’s degree in Physical, Health Education, and Coaching, along with a Masters of Education degree. Duncan Reed brings a wealth of experience to the table. A newcomer to the island, he recently made the move from his hometown of White Rock, where he was born and raised. It was in White Rock that he coached the AAA Bantam Boys and the Junior Premiere Tritons (JPBL), instilling a culture of excellence both on and off the field. What sets Duncan apart is his unwavering commitment to fun and player development, with a goal of player retention and growing the sport of baseball in Nanaimo.

In addition to his baseball and teaching expertise, Duncan also shares his coaching talents with basketball at Dover Bay Secondary, showcasing his versatility and commitment to nurturing young athletes across multiple sports.

As we look forward to the 2024 15U Nanaimo Pirates, the team can expect a season characterized by not only growth and teamwork but also a profound sense of enjoyment for the game.
