Duncan Reed, Head Coach

With over 20 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for baseball, Duncan Reed’s connection to the game runs deep. As both a teacher and a coach, he brings knowledge, energy, and dedication to every player he works with, inspiring growth, confidence, and a love for the sport.

Duncan holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical, Health Education, and Coaching, as well as a Master of Education degree. A newcomer to Vancouver Island for the past five years, he moved from his hometown of White Rock, where he coached the AAA Bantam Boys and the Junior Premiere Tritons (JPBL), building programs that emphasized excellence, teamwork, and character both on and off the field. What sets Duncan apart is his unwavering commitment to player development, fun, and growing the sport of baseball in Nanaimo, with a focus on keeping athletes engaged and helping them reach their full potential.

Under Duncan Reed’s leadership, the 2025 15U Nanaimo Pirates captured a third-place finish in the province, highlighting his ability to develop players’ skills while fostering teamwork, enjoyment, and a lasting love for the game. With Duncan at the helm, players know they are part of a program that values growth, dedication, and, above all, the joy of baseball.
