NMBA 7U Division
2024 Season Player Birth Year: 2017

Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association is excited to introduce the Rally Cap Program to our 7U Division this season.

The 7U Rally Cap Program is Baseball Canada’s Official Initiation Program for players aged 6 and 7. Players’ first experiences in baseball should be filled with active and engaging activities that are developmentally appropriate for their age. The Rally Cap program has been designed specifically for young baseball players and aims to increase interest in baseball.

The four main goals of the Rally Cap program are to:

  1. Create an environment in which children and adults can have fun with baseball.
  2. Teach baseball skills, rules and strategy to our players.
  3. Model and teach competitiveness with an emphasis on good sportsmanship.
  4. Promote increased self-esteem among Rally Cap children and adults

There will be two one hour sessions each week. Each session will combine both a practice component and an actual game. The emphasis in both will be on the 5 FUNdamentals:

  • Throwing
  • Base Running
  • Receiving
  • Hitting
  • General Knowledge

Rally Cap baseball is not a 'drop-off' activity it requires the participation of all players' parents

Parent participation is a very critical part of the Rally Cap model. Rally Cap baseball is not a 'drop-off' activity. Participation of all players' parents is a requirement. This creates a positive, interactive, long lasting experience for all participants and builds future coaches. Some accommodation can be made for parents who are unable to participate on an occasional basis. Practice plans and instructions will be provided, and parents will be supported on the field by the NMBA Director of Coach and Player Development.
